 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

SACHIN KATE

Sachin Kate was born on 10th January 1959 in Bandra, one of the busiest suburbs in the Metropolitan City of Mumbai. He has been brought up in a middle class family which had given him a quality upbringing that respected and inculcated, high family values, good culture, education, love, compassion, unconditional giving and care into this child right from his childhood.

Having completed his School Education from one of the Best Schools in Mumbai - The St. Stanislaus High School - a parish aided institution it instilled into him refined values and etiquette. It is here that his fine education in this English Medium School aroused his love for the language and at the same time his creative and writing skills were honed to perfection from his early days. With many Teachers and Fathers who were from abroad, and with an Aunt who herself was an Art and Craft teacher, these skills came to him easily. With a curriculum that enhanced multiple skills in the students the School was the best thing that could have happened for him.

In between the years that spanned out from his School days to his Graduation in Science in the year 1979 this Author had already compiled a Diary / Collection of his Writings, Poems, Sketches, Paintings and other Art and Craft projects that he was so proud of and well appreciated by all his family and friends. His writing skills amazed his friends in college and he left no chance to polish his skills going on to even learn Short Hand (Which in those years were used by Steno Typists), Typing, and was fluent in four regional languages besides English which was his primary medium of education.

This love for Writing, Drawing, Painting and Art and Crafts always kept him looking for something new. With great hopes of compiling all his works into a Book later on was always on his mind and so these were all kept safely in a bag in his work cupboard. They were untouched for over 4 to 5 years.

The call of duty and responsibilities towards his family which was the need of the hour diverted his attention from his hobby and passion, and that would be and became his biggest gap in following his passion. Born and brought up in a family that always taught, and kept respect for family values on the highest pedestal, there was no chance of expressing your own views or dreams. You just followed what was best for a common cause and that was the families growth and togetherness.

An irreparable Tragedy hit him when just 2 years after he re-located to another city Pune for Job Prospects. He got to know that all his hard work of writings, painting and some of his Artworks were destroyed. All the Paperwork, his writings and collection of his Poems, Short Stories and a few memoirs were destroyed by termites that had hit a corner of the cupboard where all his work was kept in a corner. The Artwork and Craft was somewhat salvageable but of no practical use for display. That hit him so hard that he went into a shell.

Not until over 5 years later could he get back to his passion and love - Writing. Knowing that nothing at all could be salvaged from his past works he got down to applying himself to learning how best he could use Computers and the store his creative work on a digital medium. It is then that his creative mind got to work faster, and he took on to active blogging and writing, knowing that his works were relatively more safe now and even readable by others.

He had worked on Computers just after Graduation in the year 1979; when he had also done a course in Basic Computer Programming and Systems Analysis as well as a Diploma Course in Travel Tourism. Those were the times when searching on the internet was a pain and that aroused a lot of interest in him regarding all Digital Media. But again he was alienated from his passion due to his personal commitments to family and work. The main reason being he did not have personal access to his own Computer. But that did not deter him from using the Computers at work to partially fulfill his passion and quest for knowledge.

It was not until the Early Nineties that he was able to acquire his own Computer and that was when he really set sail so to say in fulfilling his passion and first love for writing and creative and technical projects and content creation. Quickly picking up the various tools and knowledge about all that Microsoft Office could offer, he honed his skills and was able to launch his first Blog. But the content was still on paper or soft copies on a word document and yet had to be transferred to the Blog.

There was a big gap once again but this time the deprived passion of writing let him loose like a lion and he started writing voraciously while also learning the Blogging skills which he had to self-learn. Till then he had again saved all his work which he had with great difficulty tried to recollect from his strong memory so that his past works could somehow be retrieved from memory, which was a daunting task. Just as he was settling down, getting the feel of Blogging and Social Media and its use Tragedy struck him the second time. It was those times when he was still learning all the tools available with Google to enhance his works and Google Drive was introduced only as late as April 24, 2012, so all his works were stored on his Computer and some work in Diskette Floppies of those times.

While trying to Upgrade his Computer to a higher configuration the Service Technician who was setting it up for him a major lapse of concentration and blunder from the technician all the data on his Hard Drive was wiped off. It was the worst that could happen to him and all his work that he had tried to retrieve from his memory was all lost once again. It was something unbearable for him, but a man of integrity and patience that he was, all he could do was wipe of the bad memory and start afresh. Now that he was aware of the dangers from almost all quarters so to say, he ensured that all his works were having a back up on an independent Floppy or CD and also on the Drive which he had now become aware of but sadly too late.

These events set him back a long way but determined to get going again he came back with a added zest and zeal to get back to his passion, and has been unstoppable till now. His renewed active Blogging started way back in the year 2008 about 13 years ago and he has not stopped since then. Blog after Blog followed on almost every conceivable topic he would read, research and write on and that was withing his preview of writing as well as liking. But it was too much to handle and with the active help of Google Help and the Google Community and support team he reduced the number of Blogs to a manageable level as well as improve the Quality of his content and Blogging.

With a considerable command over Social Media and its integration with his work, his works and reading reached thousands of readers worldwide. One of his Blogs has over 200,000 viewers from over 194 Countries. Well recognized on most social Media platforms for his voracious writing he however could not and had not capitalized on his skills to publish his own Book. His dream of writing his own book was however still unfinished. You can view all his presently active Blogs in the Menu for Blogs

It is at this juncture today at an age of 62 and after almost over 4 decades of his losing his much loved writings he is on the verge of publishing his first dream project - his own Memoirs. It has been a long painful journey with the two tragedies that both hit him hard on the work that he had loved and wanted to showcase to the world. He is a fighter and very soon his loving readers will be able to read his first works along with a series of other books both in paperback as well as in E-Book form to be published by him very soon. Soon to follow would be Audio Books, Short Stories, and even Podcasts to delight the reader.
